About the Community

Greenwood Village is a Denver suburb with 13,000 full time residents.  The Village is an employment center that grows by 55,000 persons each work day.  The Village offers a unique mix of rural and urban environments.  From the unspoiled beauty of a quiet country meadow, to contemporary loft living, to traditional subdivisions, to world class business environments, the Village has it all.  Residents in the Village can take leisurely rides on equestrian trails and will soon be taking high speed rides on the new light rail train system.  Residents include highly educated business leaders, professionals and families who have expectations for high quality government services.

About the Village Government Organization

Greenwood Village city government is an outcome based organization with a strong customer service focus.  A high quality of life for the residents of the Village is the product or expected outcome of Village government operations.  Residents appreciate and expect safe living and working environments, beautiful built and natural settings, opportunities for recreational and leisure time activities, and convenient access to people, places, and information. 

Guiding principles provide the basis for employee behavior and decision making and that result in high quality customer service and extraordinary organizational outcomes.  These guiding principles include non stop change for the better; individual responsibility for personal and organizational success; commitment to learning to achieve desired results; fiscally, socially, and ethically responsible behaviors; organizational diversity; and a commitment to high quality work and efficiency. 

Annually each employee agrees to personally complete one or more significant goals that support and improve the outcomes of Village government.  It is an expectation that employees will complete these activities in a timely and high quality manner.  These performance objectives are considered to be part of the regular duties and are annually agreed upon by the employee and the employee supervisor based on department and organizational needs as well as employee interest.
